The Leadership Henderson County Alumni will be hosting the 2010 Festival of the Lakes held at Beech Lake, Saturday, July 3rd – Sunday, July 4th.  This year’s festival will feature the same fun events as last year, with a few extras thrown in to make the festival even bigger and better!! 

On Friday, we’ll sit back and watch the smoke roll as BBQ cookers gear up for one delicious, tasty cook-off.  Saturday morning, while the lake’s still smooth, paddlers will compete in a 5K “Lap on the Lake” kayak race, followed by a “Make Your Own Boat:  See How Long You Float” Cardboard Boat Race. 

Other events scheduled for the day include a Beach Baby and Miss Festival of the Lakes Pageant and live entertainment including "Still Down" and "Too Far Gone".

On Sunday afternoon, festivites resume with gospel music followed by some of our favorite local musicians and lots of food and fun. Local favorites Brandon Lay, The Bryan Moffett Band and The U.S. Navy Band's ensemble "Independence" will perform on Sunday, July 4th prior to the Fireworks Extravaganza Grand Finale!!!
