Natchez Trace State Park
 

Natchez Trace Park is one of the state’s largest parks

The park includes 48,000 acres of scenic woodlands including four lakes, a swimming beach, a 47-room resort inn and restaurant complex, a conference center with more than 3,000 sq. feet of meeting space in three conference rooms. Cabins, group lodge, camping areas, picnicking sites, playgrounds, a ball field, a regulation pistol firing range, hiking trails, a wrangler camp, miles of horse riding trails, a park store, and archery range.  The TN Division of State Parks, Division of Forestry and the wildlife Resources Agency share administration of the facilities.

Inn and conference center:
Pin Oak Lodge is situated on scenic Pin Oak Lake and has 47 rooms, a pool, and restaurant and gift shop.  Call 800-250-8616

Cabins:
The park has 17 one-bedroom, two-bath villas.  All cabins and villas are equipped with linens, cooking and serving utensils, appliances and microwaves.  Cabins have a minimum two-night stay requirement, except during the summer, when they are rented weekly.

Museum:
The park has a museum at its headquarters.  Exhibits include local and park history, plus a nature center featuring a wildlife viewing area and aquarium.

Meeting rooms:
Natchez Trace Inn and Conference Center offers 3,000 sq ft of meeting and banquet space in three conference rooms, which accommodate up to 200 people.  Groups staying at the inn or in cabins may reserve rooms up to two years in advance.

Rec lodge:
The Cub Lake Recreation lodge was built in the 1930s.  The lodge is used for reunions, weddings, receptions and parties.  It can seat 100 people.

Camping:
The park has 148 campsites and five camping cabins. All sites have tables, grills, water and electricity and are served by four bathhouses.  Campsites range from primitive to RV hookups.

Group lodge:
The group lodge can house up to 64 people. Sleeping arrangements are bunk beds. The administration building has an industrial kitchen and four breakaway rooms.  It is available year round; reservations can be made up to two years in advance.

Picnic pavilions:
The park has four covered pavilions that accommodate up to 40 people.  Shelters include grills and tables.  Reserve up to a year in advance.

Planned programs:
Visitors may enjoy hikes, birds of prey demonstrations, wildlife programs, history programs, hayrides and more. Contact the interpretive specialist at 731-968-3742

Hiking:
There are over 23 miles of hiking trails within Natchez Trace.  Trails range an easy mile nature walk to a 14-mile overnight trail.  A backcountry camping permit is required.

Fire trails:
There are miles of fire trails for multi-use  (bike, horse and off-road vehicles).  These trails are dirt or gavel with varying terrain.

Equestrian Center:
The Natchez Trace Equestrian Center (closed on Mondays) offers guided trail rides, pony-style rides and overnight boarding.  A Wrangler Camp is north of the Equestrian Center.  Call 731-967-5340

Boating and fishing:
There are four lakes at Natchez Trace- Cub Lake, Pin oak Lake, Brown’s Creek Lake and Maples Lake. 

Hunting:
Natchez Trace State Forest is open to hunting.  All statewide hunting laws apply.  Areas closed to hunting include safety zones around the state park and fire tower.

Archery and rifle ranges:
Archery and firing ranges are located within the park.
